Bloody Angle

Battlefield

A sharp bend in the Battle Road near the Lincoln-Concord line where Minutemen ambushed the British column to devastating effect during the afternoon retreat on April 19, 1775. Colonial militiamen firing from behind stone walls and trees at the angle inflicted some of the heaviest British casualties of the day. The site is marked and interpreted within Minuteman National Historical Park.
