Massachusetts State House
Government Building
The "new" State House (1798) designed by Charles Bulfinch. Its golden dome is a Boston landmark. The building houses the Massachusetts legislature and historical artifacts.
What Happened Here
While post-Revolutionary, the State House symbolizes the independent government Massachusetts fought for. Earlier colonial and state legislatures met at the Old State House.
