Park Street Church

Church

Prominent Congregational church (1809) on the corner of Park and Tremont streets. While post-Revolutionary, the site connects to Boston's religious and reform traditions.

What Happened Here

The church's 217-foot steeple was a landmark for ships entering Boston Harbor. William Lloyd Garrison delivered his first major anti-slavery speech here in 1829.
