Why Quincy Matters

Quincy, Massachusetts

[needs_review — scaffold only]

Former Braintree (now Quincy) was the birthplace of John Adams (1735) and John Quincy Adams (1767). John Adams was the Revolution's most influential legal and diplomatic architect — author of the Massachusetts Constitution, delegate to the Continental Congress, member of the Committee of Five that drafted the Declaration of Independence, and first U.S. minister to Britain. The Adams National Historical Park preserves the family homesteads and the United First Parish Church, where both presidents are interred.
